原來英文單字同愛情一樣，有時你以為對方係咁既意思，但唔係；有時你以為對方有意思，但其實冇。
究竟米多莉故弄甚麼玄虛呢？讓我們一起看下去。
1. Tea/dinner
見到tea你會諗起下午茶，見到dinner你會諗起晚餐？噢，在英國不一定唷！
口語英文中，尤其是非城市人，somehow tea 是指晚餐，而根本就不會用dinner這一個字。
一般來講他們都會說，what shall we have for tea? 意思就是晚餐我們吃什麼呀？
除非是正式的afternoon tea（或香港人有時會誤用的high tea)，否則下午茶都沒有特定的字：should we get something small before tea? 或是 Let’s get some treats to go with my cup of tea (這裏，tea 就是指茶了）。

2.private/public school
你以為private 和public 是相反詞嗎?在形容學校時，才不是呢！private schools 和public schools 是一樣的schools! 都是私立學校呢！
那真實的公立學校是叫甚麼呢？一般來講就是comprehensive schools 或grammar schools. 很吊?吧？

3. Sorry
對不起！才不呢！
如果你給朋友講了一件倒楣的事，好像是今天穿了新衣服可是喝咖啡倒濕了一身，卻迫著要去見客人的事情，英國朋友可能會說：oh that’s unlucky, sorry to hear that!
他不是在跟你道歉啦傻瓜，你倒楣關他屁事呢！是為你不幸的事情感到難過，表達同理心而矣！
所以千萬不要回應說：don’t worry it’s not your fault. 我們知道不是咱們的錯唷，只是虛應一應故事而矣。

4. Funny
Funny不就是搞笑的意思嗎？森美小儀好funny不就用對了嗎？
用對了….75%左右吧。
funny也可以是指奇怪的意思唷（！！！）
好像是：
Jenna: this bread smells a bit funny! (這面包聞下去怪怪的耶。）
下流的米多莉：yeah it smells as funny as your fanny! (對，跟你下面一樣聞下去怪怪的唷！??）
或是：
米多莉： how was your tinder date last night? (你昨晚tinder的約會怎樣了呢？）
Jenna 遲疑地說： well he seems like a nice guy, but he is a bit funny. （他好像是個好人，但感覺卻是怪怪的…）
唉唷不是稱讚你搞笑啦，一定沒有第二次約會了啦！
如果真的要稱讚人搞笑，除了可以用正面的語明說對方funny，也可以使用以下句子唷：
We share the same sense of humour.
I like his jokes.
