“Risk assurance itself is a broad term in Financial Service. In the context of Big 4, it can span across everything from projects in cyber security, data quality, digital transformation to audit, regulatory compliance as well as risk analytics.
The short answer is that it is a good area to be in at the moment, as the industry (particularly in Asia) is going through a transition phase where regulations are catching up with the rest of the world. As a result, there are lots of work and opportunities in the region as banks need to upgrade a whole range of processes and systems, meaning you will also be exposed to be a wide range of topics. Further, it is always good to be in a client-facing role as the relationships you build during the time there will prove to be extremely valuable in the future. Hope it helps. I am a risk management professional with over 13 years of experience in the industry.”
